GET ON YOUR BIKE!

GET ON YOUR BIKE!

At the beginning of the year, Miller UK began raising money for a local North East charity, Daft as a Brush, a very important Cancer Patient Care Charity which offers free transport to and from hospital for patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy cancer treatment.

For August’s challenge, team Miller completed an epic exercise bike cycling challenge, covering more than 150 kilometres and raising more than £500 for charity. Throughout the day the team racked up the miles by nominating each other to get on the bike for a small charitable donation. As the miles on the bike and the charitable donations racked up so did the competition for the furthest covered in 15mins. The fastest on the day went to our warehouse manager who managed an impressive 9.1km and just pipped to the post our operations director by 0.1km. However the ultimate winner on the day was our chosen charity Daft as a Brush and all the participants and kind donations which helped to make it a memorable day.

Keith Miller, chairman of earthmoving attachments manufacturer Miller UK said, “We have had a fantastic response to all of our 40th charity events so far this year. It’s something that is very close to my heart; work hard play hard and give something back. We have chosen a local cancer charity daft as a brush to support throughout the year and we are doing some charity based events internally. Not only is it for a great cause but it’s been really good for team moral, and to top off a year of giving back we are looking to host a celebratory charity ball at the end of the year.”

It’s a momentous year for Miller as they celebrate 40 years in business. To celebrate the company’s anniversary, and its accomplishments they will continue to host various charity events with a celebratory charity ball planned for the end of the year.
