We’re thrilled to announce Jamie Toward’s promotion to Robotic Welding Supervisor from Team Leader after a decade of service at Miller.
This promotion strategically aligns with our recent investment in CLOOS robots at our global HQ in Cramlington, taking our total to five, expanding our manufacturing capabilities to handle attachments for machines up to 100T.
Jamie’s journey began as an apprentice, consistently impressing us with his ability to drive factory efficiencies. His commitment to personal and professional development is evident through his intensive training, including Level Two Advanced Laser and Advanced Programming in Germany, accredited by industry-leading robot manufacturer, CLOOS, and achieving a Level Three Team Leader Apprenticeship with NCFE in the UK.
In his new role, Jamie will oversee our state-of-the-art robots and lead a team of seven employees. He’ll work closely with Gregg Hudson, our Global Manufacturing Leader, our design team and Cost-Accountant Jason Halliburton, to identify opportunities for process optimisation, ensuring our operations remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.
And Jamie has a clear progression path, with plans to achieve his Level five qualification in Operations Management next year. His ambition reflects our commitment to encouraging team members to reach their full potential.
Recognising the importance of knowledge transfer, Jamie has already taken on the responsibility of training one new programmer, with plans for further recruitment. This mentorship not only supports their career growth but ensures seamless shift transitions.
Speaking about his promotion, Jamie commented: “I’m honoured to step into the role of Robotic Welding Supervisor. I believe my expertise on the robots will support Miller in their mission for continuous improvement – helping us to remain at the forefront of safety and innovation – all whilst boosting our largest sized bucket offering.”
Congratulations, Jamie, and best of luck in your new role!
